Dr. Earl Dalke was born in Boulder, Colorado and went to school in Colorado and California and graduated from high school in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  He is married to Rena Kay Unruh-Dalke who is a therapist with Family and Children’s Services in Tulsa.  Before earning her LPC, Mrs. Dalke was an educator and school administrator for 15 years.  She was the Salina Special Services Director for three years.  The couple’s blended family includes three sons and six grandchildren.  Dr. Dalke believes in giving back to others.  He served as the President of the Chamber of Commerce and as President of the Lions Club and was honored as Volunteer of the Year before returning to Salina in 2022.               

Dr. Dalke studied business administration prior to choosing to major in education.  In addition to the positions he has held in public education, Dr. Dalke has been a corporate quality control trainer and a financial services account officer.  His degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a Master of Education, and a Doctor of Education.  Dr. Dalke’s research and dissertation focus on the proper use of the formative assessment process to keep students engaged and moving toward the accomplishment of learning targets in real time.  He is certified in many different areas including social studies, English, art, physical education, driver safety education, special education, psychology, and school administration.  He was a National Board Certified Teacher. 

Dr. Dalke has served the students of Oklahoma as a teacher, principal, athletic director, transportation director, maintenance director, curriculum director, federal programs director, and as a superintendent.  He has taught college courses in social science and graduate courses in school administration.  He particularly enjoyed teaching Advanced Placement courses.  Dr. Dalke spent a year of graduate studies in Eastern Europe and was a Japan Fulbright Scholar, studying the Japanese educational system.  He has been recognized as District Teacher of the Year, Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year Finalist, Masonic District Teacher of the Year, Oklahoma Heritage Association Indian Territory Teacher of the Year, and District 19 Superintendent of the Year.  Dr. Dalke is proud to have been a Salina High School teacher prior to accepting his first position as a superintendent.

Dr. Earl Dalke is a dedicated educator who is proud of the accomplishments of the students, teachers, and administrators with whom he has been privileged to share the journey toward joy and success through authentic schooling.
