Mrs. Joanie Gaskins has worked for Salina Schools for 22 years.  She started her career at the high school as a math and computer teacher in 1995.  Mrs. Gaskins left the high school in 2014 and went to work at Chouteau-Mazie Schools as an administrator for six years.  She returned to Salina as the Elementary Principal where she served in that position for two years.  Mrs. Gaskins is currently the Salina Middle School Principal.  She enjoys working with all ages of children and has had that opportunity at Salina.

Mrs. Gaskins grew up Mayes County, attending school in Pryor and Adair.  She is a graduate of Adair High School.  She attended Rogers State University, Northeastern Oklahoma State University, and Southern Nazarene University.  She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.  She is certified in several areas, including general and advanced mathematics, computer science, and school administration.

Mrs. Gaskins has been married to her husband, Willie, for 38 years.  They have one son, Jake, who is a graduate of Salina High School, a daughter-in-law, Holli, and two beautiful granddaughters.  They enjoy spending family time together, camping, boating, traveling, and hanging out at the lake.  Mrs. Gaskins’ favorite vacation spot is Cozumel where her family loves to scuba dive and spend time on the beautiful waters.
