Salina Public Schools is seeking 2 custodians for the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, operating scrubber machines, cleaning/restocking restrooms, cleaning and maintaining classrooms, and cleaning windows.
- Facility Upkeep: Operating floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Safety and Security: Locking/unlocking doors, reporting safety hazards, and maintaining overall security.
- Grounds: Removing trash, snow/ice removal from walkways, and basic exterior cleaning.
- Supply Management: Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting shortages.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand/walk for long hours, bend, climb ladders, and lift heavy items (often 50+ pounds).
- Skills: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and basic hand tools.
- Experience: Previous cleaning experience is often preferred, but on-the-job training is common.
